HULL, England (AP) — Hull sealed a precious 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Tuesday in a game between two sides battling to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
Nikica Jelavic gave Hull the lead with a deflected shot in the 22nd minute and new signing Dame N'Doye lashed home the second in the 74th. Hull rose to provisional 15th place in the standings, while a fifth straight league defeat for Villa left the Midlands club 18th after fellow strugglers QPR won 2-0 at Sunderland.
