LONDON (AP) — The English Football Association has found an Italian defender for second-tier English club Leeds not guilty of a charge of racially abusing an opponent during a game.
Giuseppe Bellusci was accused of verbally abusing Norwich striker Cameron Jerome, who is black, following a confrontation between the pair during a league match on Oct. 21. Bellusci denied the charge and the FA says the case was dropped by its independent regulatory commission at a personal hearing on Friday.Leeds says "Giuseppe has made it clear from the moment the incident happened that he did not use racist language, and the FA commission has found that to be the case."
